CHANGES TO CHRISTIAN SATELLITE TV

On December 3, 2007, Optus and GlobeCast Australia moved into position the new Optus D2 satellite replacing the Optus B3 satellite whilst still broadcasting on the current frequency. Many of you would not have noticed this changeover. However, on the 22nd of January 2008, the frequency will be changed to a new and stronger frequency meaning all the current Christian satellite TV viewers will need to re-scan their receivers to be able to continue viewing this great service. The re-scan can only be done after the 22nd January 2008.

What will happen after the 22nd January if I do not do the re-scan?

A message will be displayed on your television "NO SIGNAL" and there will be no picture or sound. Once this message is displayed, it is time to perform the re-scan.The re-scan does not need to be done on the 22nd, it can be done any time after. Just be aware that until the re-scan is done, you will not receive Christian TV.

Here at Christian Satellite, we are trying to make this changeover as easy and as affordable as possible. If you are an existing Christian Satellite customer, we will be mailing out instructions for your specific receiver on how to perform the re-scan. If you feel you cannot follow the instructions, try contacting a family member or friend who may be able to help you.

If you are not an existing Christian Satellite customer, you can still access these instructions through the links below. Please note, we only have instructions for the equipment which we have provided to our customers.

OPTIONS AVAILABLE

  • Perform the re-scan yourself with our on-line instructions or we can mail a set to you for a $5 postage and handling fee.
  • Order a service call - For those who are unable to perform the re-scan themselves or do not have anyone else that could help them follow the instructions, we can provide the assistance of a technician for a $75 (metro only) call-out fee including GST. For rural call-outs, a travel fee may apply. Click here to submit a request for service call form
  • Post us your receiver - If you send us your receiver, we can perform a re-scan for you and post it back to you ready to plug in and go. The costs for the re-scan is $10 including GST. Please be aware that you are also required to provide a reply-paid satchel for the return postage.
